Tweedaagse Militaire Prestatie Tocht (TMPT)
1. Announcement regarding the 75th TMPT 2026
The Dutch Armed Forces Reservists Federation (NRFK) will organise the 75th Two-Day Military Performance Tour (TMPT) on 12 and 13 May 2026 (under the auspices of the Royal Association of Reserve Officers – KVNRO).
This performance tour, on and around the General Winkelman Barracks (Harskamp), is open to professional, reserve and post-active military personnel from all branches of the armed forces.
Military personnel from non-Dutch branches of the armed forces are also welcome.
Completing this challenge entitles participants to the KVNRO Cross, known as the TMPT Cross. This award may be worn on the uniform. The TMPT is a duo achievement. This means that the achievement must be accomplished as a team of two military personnel (buddies). Both team members must therefore provide each other with maximum support.
The basic principle is that participants register as a team. Regardless of whether they are male or female. The TMPT is an achievement and definitely NOT a competition!
To be eligible for the TMPT Cross, the team must meet the requirements set out in the regulations. A team in which one or both team members exceed the available time of 10 hours on either of the two days will be disqualified and will not be eligible for the TMPT cross.
2. General Terms and Conditions for participation in the TMPT.
The following conditions must be observed when participating in the 75th Two-Day Military Performance Tour (TMPT), which is organised by the Royal Association of Dutch Reserve Officers (KVNRO/NRFK) in collaboration with the LO/Sports Organisation of the Royal Netherlands Army.
Participants must comply with the rules and regulations as drawn up by the organisation. Registration by the participant is strictly personal and non-transferable.
Participation in the TMPT is at your own risk and responsibility. Participants must be in good physical condition and sufficiently trained to participate in the TMPT in a responsible manner. In case of doubt, a medical examination is recommended. Participants must be at least a basic marksman with the weapon they will be using for the shooting test. Foreign participants are required to take part in a weapon familiarisation programme on the day of arrival.
The organisation is not liable for any damage and/or injury that a participant may suffer as a result of participating in the TMPT. The organisation is not liable for any damage that third parties may suffer as a result of the TMPT taking place. Participants must be insured against (legal) liability. All participants in the TMPT will be provided with government accommodation.
f the TMPT is cancelled or postponed due to force majeure, the registration fee paid will not be refunded, but will be used for participation in a subsequent edition of the TMPT.
3. Age categories
The TMPT has a Senior (S) and Veteran (V) course, with the requirements for the V course being less demanding.
The following may participate in the V course:
Two men aged 45 or older;
One man aged 45 or older together with one woman;
Two women.
When registering a combination of two ladies aged 45 or older, a third category will be added: V+. All other combinations will automatically follow the S course. A V and V+ team is allowed to participate in the S course. They must, however, make this wish known to the organisation.
4. Registration
Registration for participation as a team – including IDEAL payment – can only be done online via the website at the following internet address: https - registration is not yet open
Registration is possible from 1 March to 27 April. After submitting the digital registration form and receiving the IDEAL payment, the team will be listed on the TMPT site as a registered team and will also receive a confirmation email. The registration is then final and the status of the team will be updated on the TMPT website.
Professional soldiers who wish to participate in the TMPT will be granted special leave to participate in the event, subject to the approval of their commander.
Reservists participate in the TMPT on a voluntary basis. The reservist's commander may, upon request by the reservist, grant the latter permission to participate in the TMPT. In that case, he may call up the reservist for active duty without pay, so that the reservist can claim free medical care and submit his travel expense claim.

Only the following components:
Obstacle course
Survival course
Speed march
Orientation course
may be completed without a base jacket.
The beret must be worn on the barracks grounds! Equipment (e.g. rucksacks, camel bags, footwear, etc.) must also be exclusively “military”. Uniforms will be checked. All participants in the TMPT must wear their military uniform correctly and in accordance with the regulations at all times. If a check reveals that a participant is not complying with the uniform regulations, the TMPT committee may exclude him or her from further participation. For your own safety, it is very important to bring and wear your reflective tape!
13. Bicycles
Participants must provide their own bicycle. A “bicycle” is defined as a city bike, with gears if desired. A derailleur is permitted. Recumbent bicycles, tandems, racing bikes, gravel bikes and bicycles with electric pedal assistance (“e-bikes”) are not permitted. It is also not permitted to equip the bicycle with racing wheels and/or racing tyres.
The minimum tyre thickness is 37 mm. The most common permitted wheel sizes are shown in the table below. Checks will be carried out. If the check reveals that the tyre size deviates from the minimum thickness, the TMPT committee may exclude the participant from further participation. If in doubt, you can present your bicycle for inspection at the secretariat on Monday evening. There are limited opportunities to hire a bicycle in Otterlo. PLEASE NOTE: during the cycle, there will be a checkpoint where your bicycle will be checked! A table of bicycle tyre sizes with different size designations can be found here.
14. Start and finish times
Barring exceptional circumstances, participants will depart between 06.30 and 07.30 hon both days.
Each team will be assigned a fixed start time, linked to their start number. The time of departure will be recorded on a chip. For teams that decide to start after 07.30 h the start time will remain 07:30.
Teams must note their departure time themselves, so that each team can calculate its own latest arrival time. The latest arrival times, without waiting time correction and penalty time correction, will therefore be between 16.30 and 17.30 h. Short waiting times are part of the event and will not be compensated. Waiting times during the speed march and shooting (the last 25 minutes) are counted as warm-up time and are part of the assignment. Therefore, no correction will be made for these. The organisation may decide to compensate for longer waiting times.
15. Checkpoints
The TMPT has the following checkpoints:
Unmanned checkpoint with a registration box. Here, the teams must insert the key (with chip) into the registration box themselves;
Unmanned checkpoint with a ‘flasher’. Here, the teams must place the clip in the designated box on a registration card;
Manned checkpoint with registration box or clip.
The controller inserts the key (with chip) into the registration box or makes the cut on the registration card; Checks by answering control questions; Check by means of the shooting registration card. The reporting point is the starting point for most assignments. At the reporting point, it is the team's responsibility to ensure that the organisation registers the reporting point and that they receive the key with chip back if applicable. A checkpoint can be recognised by an orange flag with black letters ‘TMPT’. An unmanned checkpoint with a registration box gives a visual and acoustic signal upon registration to confirm the registration. If the participant does not observe either signal, they must report this to the organisation at the next checkpoint! Unmanned checkpoints with a ‘flasher’ may be encountered when carrying out assignments and when carrying out a bonus run (= penalty run). In such cases, the team will receive a registration card from the organisation, on which they must make the necessary marks.
16. Penalties
The TMPT imposes the following penalties: Bonus run and Time penalty Disqualification/exclusion Financial penalty
The description of each component specifies the requirement and the penalty for failing to meet it. Failing to report at a checkpoint can lead to the following penalties and consequences: disqualification if it cannot be demonstrated that the team did in fact complete the task.
Any waiting time incurred will not be taken into account, even if it can be demonstrated that the task was completed. Missing a checkpoint during a task or a bonus run will result in the following additional time being added: Travel by bicycle (A1): 45 minutes Map reading by kayak (A2): 20 minutes Orienteering course (B6): 15 minutes Coordinate ride (C7): 15 minutesThe March (D11): 45 minutesBonus run: repeat until the task is completed correctly. Using non-regulation tyres will result in a time penalty or disqualification. Failure to return the shooting registration card will result in disqualification. The use of GPS or other electronic aids will result in disqualification. The loss of a time registration key with chip will cost the team 40 euros.
